Crystal Lake Health Advisory Lifted!

The water tests carried out on August 20 and August 27 showed cyanobacteria levels of 51,000 and 8,000 cells per millimeter respectively, both well below the maximum acceptable level of 70,000 cells. The toxin levels were below 1 part per billion. As a result the health advisory imposed a month ago has been lifted, and the water will not be tested again unless there is another algae bloom.

Open Crystal Lake invited to join Mayor Warren's Crystal Lake working group

The working group meets monthly to discuss all issues concerning the lake and is charged with developing an action plan for the lake. We are committed to participating fully and constructively in this group and cooperating in any way we can to improve the environment of the lake. These meetings are closed, but we will report on them as and when appropriate. If you live in the Crystal Lake watershed area and are willing to have your email address added to the City's list to receive important alerts concerning the lake, please click here to let us know.
